Tell the Neighbors
02:21
|
|||
Sit up, pay attention
You might feel a minor glitch
A day of distinction
As our heads get hooked in a twist
No need to dwell on ill feelings
Since every little step we take around leads to this
Rather appealing dish
In tonight's frying pan
Never before or since
Not not to mention
Let's take off all our wigs
And tell the neighbors that we're turning it upside-down
Knock knock, who's that talking
Where them voices coming from?
Don't look, keep on walking
We don't have to worry 'bout it none
They think they're rushing all over
But every little step we take is under the sun
The source of all this heat
In our most golden lair
An unexpected treat
E-evolution
Begin the drums to beat
And tell the neighbors that we're turning it upside-down
I never noticed before, but now it's plain to see
The same stuff's up a tree as you, or me, or anybody
Just lying here on the floor, it feels so natural
Let's bounce off all the walls
This is a most delightful evening
Sun down, night before us
Like some ancient mandolin
Tune up, join the chorus
Please don't hesitate to jump right in
We've got no big destination
But with every little step we take we set out once again
That's how you get through weeks
You never seen before
Where all your thinking leaks
H-hallucination
Let's not fear to be freaks
And tell the neighbors that we're turning it upside-down.

Pictures In the Trees
02:48
|
|||
Everbody's here
An epic get-together
The prevailing atmosphere
strong enough to change the weather
A sufficient head of this could knock me to my knees
I'm just happy drawing pictures in the trees
I was here last year
We tore the fuckin house down
Quickly it came crystal clear
Quiet can trump a loud sound
Hear the big show calling but don't answer to it's pleas
Check the pattern of the moonlight on the leaves
I'm just happy drawing pictures in the trees
Every now and then
Good to take a breather
But galactic dust is always crashing down upon the earth
Got to disappear
Whenever you can find the
Time it takes you over and will leave you waiting patiently alone
Hang up the phone
It seems that I missed it
In search of lazy languor
There's an issue, I'll address it
You wonder what I came for
The overall attitude of "do just as you please"
You can find me by the buzzing of the bees
I'm just happy drawing pictures in the trees

Scrambled Eggz
02:56
|
|||
Today everything is scrambled eggz
Who pulled the legs out from the table where I'm sitting
Eating breakfast?
A way around is to rewrite the regs
And open up negotiations if you're willing
To accept this
(chorus)
I have never seen
A lovelier thing
Soon the grass is green
Beneath it we are fumbling
Mix them together stir until quarter to never
Sprinkle them with salt and pepper and they're done
Today everything is bacon shakes
Could fill the lakes with what the storm is gonna cry
In the daytime
A way around this is to break the plates
And sweep the flakes up with the trash that seems to lie
Behind our lines
(chorus)
Today everything is ham and swiss
Who blew the whistle on the feeling going 'round
In the basement?
A way around this is to blow a kiss
Dismissive witness to the hip and hot new sound
On the pavement
(chorus)
Today everything is toasting toast
Can't pay the postage on what we have got to send
Scramble snowplows
A way around must resurrect the ghost
All of this same old boasting's really got to end
Any day now
(chorus)
Sprinkle them with salt and pepper and we're done with the plans
All of the same old ways
Try to pin the tail
On the donkey waving at your window

Your Royal Starships
03:10
|
|||
Here in the future there's peace
We take our marching orders from the beauties in our holo-zines
It's been this way at least a couple weeks, and telescreens are
Laughing inside our heads
flashing the world away
Their faces are everywhere
And it's your civic duty to salute, or just to stop and stare
Keeps you from realizing you really care 'bout anything
Except losing weight and stuff
And who sucked on whose left thumbnail
Don't need those big-time spenders
Their starships just bring me down
Stand by your friends and neighbors
It's a longshot, but we might not hit the ground
If we come around
Dust settles in the backyard
First time it's moved since light was privatized and moved indoors
Building our temples to the plastic stars, while telephones are
Ringing inside our heads
Ringing inside ourselves
I'd give this up any day
Where people are so busy kissing ass they throw their hearts away
This is your real life, it's not just a play
And middlemen are lining your genes with lead
Dragging down all your DNA
Don't need those big-time spenders
Their starships just bring me down
Stand by your friends and neighbors
It's a longshot, but we might not hit the ground
If we come around
